Mary Lou Palumbo

Mary Lou Palumbo is an Emmy-nominated broadcaster, author, lyricist, and entrepreneur with over 30 years of experience in radio and television. A native of Bristol, Rhode Island,  she grew up surrounded by the traditions of America's oldest continuous Fourth of July Celebration, where her father, George S. Correia, played the trumpet in the local band. Her beloved dog, Skippy had a habit of escaping the house to march with her father in the annual parade, inspiring her to write  Skippy the Dog in the Band. First  published in  2008, this edition celebrates America's 250th and honors the memory of her dad. Based on Skippy's true story, Mary Lou  hopes to inspire children and families that  with perseverance, courage, a little humor and a lot of love, dreams can come true. Mary Lou continues to free-lance in television and enjoys writing stories based on her true life experiences. She co-authored Michael's Journey with her dear friend Laura Hartley, and hopes to write additional stories about Skippy's  adventures.  Mary  Lou resides in East Falmouth, Massachusetts, with her husband Gary, and spends  her time between New England and Sarasota, Florida.
